Doraemon Cake Pop
Draemon
I made Draemon Cake pops for the Japanese school's bake sale. Doraemon is one of the most popular cartoon character for all ages. He is a cat robot (ears were got bitten by a rat) who came from a future world.
日本語学校のベークセールのために、おなじみのドラえもんをケーキポップにしてみました。

今回は青いキャンディーメルトを使う代わりに、青の食用着色パウダーで白のキャンディーに色つけしてみた。青で全体をコーティングした後に、白で顔の部分をコーティングしたのだけれど、これが思ったより難しかった。あまり温めると、熱で下の青が溶けだしちゃうし、固いと表面がスムーズにならない、薄すぎると青がすける…。地味で神経を使う作業に疲れた～。で、結局、それほどスムーズな表面にならなかったし:(
反対に表情のせるのはすっごく楽しかった:) 口の部分はFruits by Footというシート状のお菓子で。
In stead of using blue candy melt, I used food color powder this time. After the first coating of blue, coating the face part white was much more difficult than expected. If the candy is too hot it melt the blue underneath, and if not warm enough the surface would not be so smooth. It was a bit tiring and boring work, but I really enjoyed the part of making all the expressions on each of Draemons. Draemon's mouth is made by Fruits by Foot.
